Non-Deliverable Futures (NDF) Contracts....?

Folks,

I have a client that has operation in Brazil. The currency of Brazil (the Real) is often used with Non-Deliverable Forward (or NDF) contracts. A NDF is an outright forward or futures contract in which counter-parties settle the difference between the contracted NDF price or rate and the prevailing spot price or rate on an agreed notional amount.

Currently it is not uncommon to track these transactions in a spreadsheet as there are few ERP systems that have the functionality to record, update, and settle these financial transactions to include fees, interest, gain, and losses with integration into the various other modules of the ERP system.

I had always thought that NDFs were only used in a handful of countries... but it is actually used in almost 30 countries. Whereas I had thought this to be a small niche area regarding foreign currency transactions... this appears to be bigger than that and is growing.

In researching this area... I find that SAP and Oracle have this as standard functionality.

However... that is not so with D365F&O.

So my question is... has anyone tracked NDFs in Ax2012/D365F&O? I am coming up short here and hoping not to have to build something from scratch.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks... Mike

    Hello Mike,

NDF's and many other hedging tools are - as you mentioned - not supported in the standard solution.

I know one ISV solution that I know, which deals with those issues.

    Please see: www.cnstreasury.com/.../

Not sure if they include everything you are looking for but it might be worthwhile checking their website.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
