Cycle Counting Issue

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by 15

We have been carrying out cycle counting for a couple of years now, and usually, the cycle count plan is run and it would create a single count that covers a range of locations in a warehouse

Recently, when the cycle count plan gets run, its creating one plan per location, rather than a single cycle count

We cant work out whats changed and are trying to find a setting that would group these together again as previously?

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi PeteB,

In Cycle couting we have two type of options:

     1. Cycle count work by item.

     2. Cycle count work by location.

In your scenario you should use "Cycle count work by Item". It will create cycle count work for the locations where item you specified are on-hand.

Please check setup at Warehouse Parameter level also.

    Thanks,

    Manish Goyal

Thanks for the reply but we haven't done cycle counts by item previously

Our cycle counts are set up to cover a range of locations (for example AD01F..AD01R)

When the count runs it used to create a single cycle count work that would include all items in the specified range of locations

Now, the cycle count is creating a single entry for each location, and not a single, consolidated count as before

I fear we may have a mod and something has gone awry with it...

    Hi PeteB,

One more thing you can check at Cycle count plan level. i.e." Maximum number of cycle counts"

Refer below link of more details, if it helps:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../set-up-cycle-counting-thresholds-and-plans-to-perform-cycle-counting

    Thanks,

Thanks Manish - i don't think we'll be able to sort this out easily as i've found an FDD and we had a mod developed for this - i'll get it across to our AX support team for further investigation

Thanks for the help on this, much appreciated
