How to copy Knowledge Article Template custom field values to Knowledge Article

Hi There,

I have added couple of custom fields to "Knowledge Article Template" entity. Now user can populate it when create their templates. But those custom fields values do not copy to Knowledge Article when I select it.

I could not find any configuration/ option to make it work. Does anyone knows hot to make it work.

    Hi Madura S,

    It is not enough to just add the field in both two forms, you need the Onload function mapping in the template. Unfortunately, Microsoft's own function cannot be modified, so you need to customize a Onload function and add it in:

    I ended up with a lookup field to Article Template and a .js code to copy data.

    Madura, can you share the steps for what you did? I want to copy the Article Template Name to the Knowledge Article table and do not know how to do it. I tried adding a column that matches the format of the Name column and setting up Mapping of the 2 columns but nothing happens in my org at work. When I do the same thing on a Developer instance, it works as expected.
