Sales Commission Calculation for custom column

Hello all,

Can you help me in explaining Sales Commission Calculations because I have to calculate sales commission based on a custom column.

Basically, there are two columns.

1. Salesperson: who gets automatically populated based on customer card

2. Another Salesperson: this one will be the person who creates a order.

So, I figured if I know about the process of calculating Sales Commission for Salesperson then same code and triggers can be replicated to calculate commission for another salesperson. So, do you guys think that it will work?

Or is there any other easy way to do this? please do help me out.

The calculation is executed in this report and analyzes customer ledger entries of invoice and credit memo type, by salesperson code.
