Migrating Customer Voice surveys from one environment to another

Hello All,

Our organisation has recently acquired Customer Voice and has started creating surveys in the same environment as the one made available as part of the original pilot tests, namely the "XXXXXXXXXX (default) (Upgrade) (org99999999)" (ie, where "XXXXXXXXX" is the full name of our organisation and "org99999999" is the tenant ID for our organisation) environment.

As things stand now and after around 5-6 months of using Customer Voice to create surveys, we realised that they had been created in the "XXXXXXXXXX (default) (Upgrade) (org99999999)" environment instead of in the "XXXXXXXX Production" environment (which is our default production environment for our cloud Dynamics 365 instance).

My questions are as follows:

1. How can the original Customer Voice surveys created in the "XXXXXXXXXX (default) (Upgrade) (org99999999)" environment be migrated to the "XXXXXXXX Production" environment? Or will they have to be manualy recreated from scratch in the "XXXXXXXX Production" environment?

2. Going forward, is it best practice to keep all Customer Voice surveys in the same production environment as our Dynamics 365 production instance?

Many thanks in advance for your prompt responses.

Cheers,

Michael

    Hi Michael,

You can maintain and update the projects across various environments(like dev and Prod) or even the same environment, by using the Update functionality of Customer Voice. You can find more details about the same here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../manage-projects

    Hello Michael,

    1. You can use the copy feature to copy the projects from your Default environment to the Production environment. Steps of how to copy are mentioned in the doc: docs.microsoft.com/.../manage-projects

Once the copy is done, you can delete the projects from the Default environment after your testing/review.

    2. If we create the surveys in an environment using the Customer voice UI, then the surveys will be automatically created as records/rows in the corresponding entity/table in that environment's CDS/Dataverse. So, if you would like to have your surveys stored in your production instance, then you should create surveys in the same production environment as your Dynamics 365 production instance.

    Thanks.
