How to make a personalisation on an option field in real time marketing email editor

Posted on by 33
Hi,

As we are working on the transition from outbound marketing to real time marketing we recognized that in the email editor in real time marketing we cannot add the salutation from the contact/lead.

We have set up the salutation field as an option set (options: Herr / Frau / Divers). I have read that option sets aren't supported for use in dynamic text. Option sets are supported in conditions, so an inline condition can be used to output option values in messages (see  <https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-personalization#limitations).

As described here (https://learn.microsoft.com/de-de/dynamics365/marketing/real-time-marketing-personalize-inline-conditions) we have tried to add our salutation option set in the email editor. This didn't work.

Can anyone help me with that?

Thanks!

    Hi,
Based on the information you provided, we conducted tests. The results demonstrate that customized option sets are supported in real-time marketing email inline conditions.
The test procedure is as follows:

Step 1. Add salutation option set field to the inline conditions.

Step 2: Add code to personalize the salutation based on the value of the Salutation Option Set field. The Default content means to display its value when none of the above three conditions are met.

Copy the code to the Email Designer interface and add the values for the three conditions and the value of Default content.

Step 3. Send the email to check the test result.
The value of target contact Salutation field is Divers.

The Salutation of the email is the same as the value of the contact's Salutation field. This means that the inline conditions set previously are valid.

It is recommended that that you review your steps in detail.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li
