Warehouse Items on Item Master

Dear All,

Could you please let me know the objective & importance of Warehouse Items tab on the Item Master in AX 2012 R3

Product Info > Released Product > Select an Item > Manage Inventory (fast tab) > Warehouse Items

    Hi

    They allow you to define warehouse specific settings for each item. The settings on the Locations tab are particularly important if you are using the WMSII / Consolidated picking functionality (depreacted in D365), but are not useful at all if you are using the Warehouse management module.

    It's also useful if you are using Inventory counting journals in the Inventory module, and you have multiple warehouses, since it allows you to count the item in multiple warehouses simultaneously.

    If you are using the Warehouse module and are not using Inventory counting journals, Warehouse item settings are not that important.
