Hello,
I have a problem with subscription management of marketing dynamics email,
In my newsletter, we are asking customers to review their subscription and update their profile (address, email,...)
I realize if the customer forwards the email to someone the new email recipient can edit the information as well.
Is there anyway to disable the link when it is forwarded?
Thank you,
elly
Hi elly,
The only way a contact can access a subscription center is by clicking a link sent to them in email. Email links are always personalized for the recipient, which means that Dynamics 365 Marketing always knows which contact has requested the subscription center and therefore populates it with that contact's current details and subscriptions. (Quoted from Set up a subscription center (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs)
If a contact opens a subscription center page directly, rather than selecting a link from an email, then the ID won't be present in the URL. Instead, Dynamics 365 Marketing requests the cookie as backup to identify the contact. If the cookie isn't found, then the subscription center won't work because it won't know who it's talking to. (Quoted from Subscription center forms)
In my previous experience of using, if a marketing email is forwarded and the recipient click the unsubscribe link, the subscription center cannot be shown normally.
But It can be opened directly now with the information of the contact prefilled.
I don't think it is an expected behavior.
It is recommended to raise a support ticket for further help.
