No module showing after database restore.

Hi All,

I have restored AX 2012 development environment from PreProd business and model database, but when I am opening AX instance, I can't see any module. It is showing No module selected. Getting below error in Event viewer on AOS server:

Object Server 01: The database reported (session 3 (sbowais)): [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]The SELECT permission was denied on the
object 'ModelSecurityPermission', database 'DynamicsAX_DEV_model', schema 'dbo'.. The SQL statement was: "SELECT OWNERGROUP, OWNERCHILDNAME, RELATIONNAME, EFFECTIVEACCESS, SYSMANAGED, MANAGEDBY, OBJECTGROUP, OBJECTNAME, OBJECTCHILDNAME, KERNELTYPE FROM [DynamicsAX_DEV_model].[dbo].[ModelSecurityPermission] WHERE OWNERHANDLE = ? AND OWNERLAYER = ? AND OWNERCHILDNAME = ?"

After restore, I have added the DEV AOS service account under both model and business databases, but in vain. Does anyone have any clue what went wrong? My user was there in PreProd as well and its working fine, but showing above error in DEV after restore.

Thanks,

Baber.

    Hi Andre,

Thanks for your response. I restored the model database again, added the AOS service account under Users and that resolved the issue. Not sure why it was not working previously despite of performing the same steps.

    Hi Baber,

You can check the permissions on the database. Are these set correctly? If you are using separate domains for each environment it might need an update on credentials. Also check if the database is in a read-only state.
