Collecting insurance premiums while employee is on unpaid leave

Hello,

We currently have an employee on unpaid leave that was unexpected.  We are needing to collect their insurance premiums (both pre/post tax deductions).  Normally, when we know about the leave ahead of time, we collect the amounts owed before leave.  Is there a way to collect/record insurance premiums in GP if the employee sends a check?  What happens to the pre-tax deductions since this does not run through payroll?

    Hi,

    When an employee does not have enough wages for deductions use Deduction in Arrears  (DIA) to track these in payroll.

    In the Deduction Setup window HR & Payroll >> Setup >> Payroll >> Deduction or in the Employee deduction window HR & Payroll >> Setup >> Payroll >> Deduction you can set up DIA by selecting the deduction code then marking the box "Allow Arrears" >> then choosing Mandatory deductions and or collect when possible. You can look at the "help" window for more information on these fields.
