Good afternoon everyone

We were experiencing some strange behavior with the XGantt ActiveX component and after checking Netronic's website we saw that this was actually a bug with they fixed in build 4.400.0.735

We are running AX 2012 R2 and our version of the XGantt ActiveX is 4.400.0.26

I wasn't able to find any hotfix relating to the XGantt ActiveX.

Does anyone know which version of the ActiveX comes in the subsequent AX versions?

Or if there's any hotfix available for this component?

Hi Joanna, I did a quick search on PartnerSource but I couldn't find a HotFix mentioning issues with the Gantt control. I also checked on a AX 2012 R3 installation and saw that version 4.400.0.1004 is installed, maybe you can use this version of the control from a R3 installation on your environment?

Thanks a lot for your prompt response!

Well, perhaps they don't issue hotfixes for external components in intermediate versions..

Regarding your suggestion to use the component that comes with the R3 installation, would it be enough to just replace the ocx file?

Hi Joanna, I'm not sure, you'll have to test it in a test environment. You might have to unregister the old version and register the new version. Search online for "ActiveX register" for your Windows version.

Yeah I thought so..

We definitely need to give this a try and test extensively before rolling out.

It would be good to hear from someone that might have tried this before though..

The number seq for employees is in the SHARED human resource parameters. Fixing the issue of not being able to create a new employee is simply advancing the 'next' number.

Using workflow to create an employee is optional by the way. Without workflow, simply click the COMPLETE button after having defined that new employee.

This number sequence is impossible to find in Org admin / number sequences because the reference "Human resources" does not show the shared ones.
