Unable to install Dynamics AX on two different networks

Scenario:
Installing Dynamics AX 2012 R3 clients in two different networks. One network ip range is 192.168.2.xxx onwards and other network IP is 192.168.41.xxx

When a AX client from a network 192.168.41.xxx attempts to connect to AOS that belongs to network 192.168.2.xxx, i receive the following message “The Application object server is unavailable. Check your configuration and network connection and try again”.

AOS services are running so this issue is not related to AOS services.

One more thing how can i join machine to the domain if the machine is not on the same network of the domain?

I need your help on the above issues.

    Hello Uzair

The AOS service is not able to run with it's FQDN identity. This meens, if you are in a multidomain environment, you maybe will have to work with hostfile entries on clients.

Please have a look at this post:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/emeadaxsupport/archive/2009/04/23/connection-to-the-aos-from-a-trusted-domain-is-not-possible.aspx

You can easily check this, if your clients are able to ping the hostnames of all AX servers.

But if all of your servers and clients are in the same domain, you should check your network configuration.

    Hi Uzair

In this case you add route between two network as necessary in your network device (Router or Manageable Switch ).

Or else you can add IP from 192.168.41.xxx Range for AOS Server Network Adaptor/Connection

then for the AOS server will have two different IP's from 192.168.2.xxx Range and 192.168.41.xxx Range

I think that is the easiest way to solve this issue. This can be done only if you using static IP's for the AOS Server , if you are using DHCP , first you have to Reserve IP's from each Scopes of DHCP.

to add clients from another domain except from the default first you have to create Domain trust within the domains. And you have to add DNS Records or Edit Host Files as necessary.

Refer this link, it may helpful for you .blogs.msdn.com/.../connection-to-the-aos-from-a-trusted-domain-is-not-possible.aspx

192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 is a private IP address range. If you're really talking about two separate networks, you obviously can't access resource in the other network by using private IP address. It would look for the private address in your current network. You have to use a public address instead.
