Has anyone sucessfully migrated a portal from one environment (Environment A) to another (Environment B) without overwriting the existing portal in Environment B?

Hi there,

I've tried migrating a portal from Environment A to Environment B a few different ways (XRM Toolbox - 'Portal Records Mover', 'Portal Configuration Deployer' and also Power Platform CLI download/upload following this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-pages/admin/migrate-site-configuration?tabs=CLI#transfer-website-metadata).

Every time I tried migrating, it would overwrite the existing portal in Environment B.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Apologies - please ignore what I mentioned about performing Step 5.

I am actually having issues with Step 4 where the upload process actually rewrites my existing portal in Environment B instead of creating a second portal.

    I hope that makes sense.

    Hi Partner,

No new portal is created after performing step 5?

    Hi Leah,

Yes - I prepared the target environment by provisioning a new website and performed Step 5 as shown in your screenshot.

It still overwrote the existing portal in my target environment.

Also worth mentioning that my source portal  and existing portal in Environment B were created using the same Customer Self Service portal template.

    Hi Partner,

Have you created one new portal in environment B?

After transferring metadata, then you can create the new website using Power Apps for the imported website record by using the option Use data from existing website record.
