Hi All,
I want to change the way ax process currently works for automatic role assignment. All companies are assigned during the automatic role assignment. They want to default a persons home branch this will happen for any roles that are part of the automatic role assignment.

HI Andre,
Rule should be created in such a way , when i ran the job in automatic code, the user should grant access to specific organisation individually.
How to achieve it so , Please help me on this.
Thanks,
Karthik
Hi Andre/ Pravasti
I tried creating a rule per legal entity , but its not working.
Please help me on this.
Thanks,

Hi andre,
I'm using ax2012 only.I posted in wrong version.I want to know how to create a rule based on legal entity
Hi Karthik,
As mentioned above, you would need to create multiple rules for the same role and then assign organization(s) per rule. This would be a standard option. However, you can consider a customization, but in the first place, I wouldn't recommend that as you then also need to verify if this customization might be possible in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
Hi pravasti/Andre
How did you achieve your result, I'm also having the same requirement, please guide me.
@Andre -I followed your blog "Automatic role assignment Part-2 of creating a new rule,My case is to assign organisation based on the branch as pravasti said,
how will be the organisation hierarchy , If i use userinfo table , dirperson info , hcmworker table alone is enough to create a new rule or else i have to use company table as well . How it will override the standard functionality of assigning into all organisation.
Hi Pravasti,
This process will indeed assign all organizations if you didn't specify the organization assignment on the rule.
It would be possible to create a rule per legal entity and add datasources in the query to get from the user to the worker table and then create the range for the new branch field. Then per rule, you can define the correct legal entity in the organization assignment. If you have no other ranges, it will be applicable to all users. Is this the desired outcome?
Hi Andre,
When creating a rule , selecting a query " assign to all users" & then running a job.
Hi Pravasti,
You can search in the resources for recorded webcasts on security. For sure, you should be able to find the Automatic Role assignment then.
If there is no manual assignment, how did you initially assign a user to a role?
Hi andre,
No manual assignments of role for a user.I'm having the ug login but the recording page could not be loaded,i dont have sufficient rights to see the video. Is there any other option.
Hi Pravasti,
Are you saying that a user is already assigned to a security role and then you want to apply the automatic role assignment? If this is the case, it will never work. Once you have assigned a role manually, the automatic role assignment will not change that assignment. It will only assign once there is no manual assignment. Then a role including organization assignment will be assigned. I will be revoked once the rule is not valid anymore; only for automatic assigned security settings.
If you are a member of the D365UG, you can watch a recording of my session where I do explain also how to manage this for multiple users, multiple roles, multiple legal entities. Link to recording (needs login details).
