Is there a contest going on in the Forum

How come I will see comment after comment after comment on a post all saying I agree with so and so.  Is there a contest going on to see who can post the most and get badges.  And sometimes it's like the person at the end never read any of the 10 posts before them?

    Susan, there is no contest here what you are seeing are people, who are very busy, trying to be helpful. Oft times more than one of us will respond to the same message at the same time or we do not want to appear to be intrusive after one of us has started to resolve the issue. Many times you see the same question over and over and you want to quickly provide a solution. Given that we are all volunteers we do the best we can with what time we have. I know for myself, I often go through these messages after being in the field all day and sometimes that is not a good thing because you are tired and make mistakes. When we do, we rely on others in the group to pick us up.

    I'm with Susan.  Multiple confirmations of an answer by contributors is not that useful, IMHO.

    You also mentioned above "I'm with Susan". So, you and Susan both are telling the same point ( I am extremely sorry If my words are hurts you).

    For this type of case(If some questions got more number of same answers), they have feel this must be the correct answer.

    Hi Susan,

    I can see both things going on -

    There are some posters who just agree, or who repeatedly ask and answer their own questions, there are some posts that are marked as a 'suggested answer' when there is no way in the world that the suggestion is valid.

    However, sometimes a post by someone agreeing, can give more validity to an answer. If Richard and Frank both agree, I would certainly feel better about relying on the answer. Just a simple 'yep, I think that's right' can be a big help.

    Some posters do work out their own problem and are kind enough to share the solution with us - I wouldn't want to discourage that practice, we like answers.

    Some suggested answers don't seem valid to me, but may have seemed valid to the posters. I'm sure I've come up with some suggestions that have caused Frank to think I had started using a different software.

    Like you, I hate to see abuses, but this forum is still so full of valuable information I try to overlook it. There are a handful of moderators on the forum now, perhaps we should consider trying to clean up some of the posts that seem self-serving.

    I could care less how many people say "I agree". As long as no one starts a thread trying to advertise their product or services, I'm fine.

    This seemed like an OK place to air my grievances.
