Duty or Privilege?

Hi,

What is the difference between a Duty and a Privilege?

I have noticed there are multiple Duties and Privileges with the same label, please refer to the snippet I have included.

    Security duties are a collection of Security privileges, and Security roles are a collection of Security duties.  Sometimes they can have the same name or label.

    Hi,

    As per my understanding Duty alone doesn't do anything. Duty is used to group certain privileges which can help the user complete a certain process in AX.

    for eg: one duty named Inquire Purchase orders will have all the necessary privileges to perform and inquiry into a purchase order and print documents.

    Where as privileges is where, you can mention permissions and entry points, like access levels, Tables, methods or form permissions.
