Hi,

Can any one help me on this below 2 issues on Depreciation.

1) Depreciation not calculated correctly.

2) On each period it shows same value.   For clear picture, I have given with figures also in below.

My Acquisition Value is :   USD 4000

Depreciation Method is :   Straight line Method for One year only.

Calcualted Depreciation :   335.62 on every month but it should be 333.33(4000/12) and some period has 30 & 31 days, so due to  that it should be change, but I'm not getting like this. System calculates only 335.62 on every month.

Please advice on this. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mallesh,

can you have look at the depreciation profile for the value model related to this asset? Probably share this screen shot. It cannot calculate more than USD 4000 in this scenario, so somewhere there is something odd.

Fixed assets > Value models >Inquiry > Profile.

Yes Calavon, Total depreciation can not exceed USD 4000 But it shows depreciate amounts un evenly like in

    Apr 186.30

    May-Dec(2015) 335.62

    Jan-Mar(2016)  333.33

    Apr (2016)         128.75

For Apr 2015 & 2016 I know the reason for depreciation amounts because asset bought on Apr 14 2015 and life time is 1 year but why system shows 335.62 & 333.33 instead of 333.33.

      Please clarify Calavon.

    Hi Mallesh,

Have a look at this thread: community.dynamics.com/.../157446.aspx

What are the depreciation settings done in your environment? Is this similar?

This looks like a prorated depreciation. I had the same issue once. Play with your General Fixed Asset parameters: Calculate Prorated depreciation. There is a check box for it. See if its checked or not. It should not be.
