Hi,

I would like to customise (add site map entries) the Dynamics 365 for Sales app in my sand box environment and once accepted by users I want to export it in a solution to deploy it on my production environnement or in other words how do I apply my personal customisations tu the Sales App and deploy them in another instance ?

In my dev environment I created an application based on the sales apps but the problem is I can onlu=y have the new  "send as PDF" functionality but not the enhanced email one. I am missing something ?

Thank you for four help.

Youcef

    Hi Youcef,

    Thank you for your query.

Please find how to Customize the Dynamics 365 Sales Professional app here: docs.microsoft.com/.../manage-app

Create or edit an app by using the app designer:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../create-edit-app

First you need to make sure that you have replicated the production environment so the sandbox and your production environments are identical (not necessary to include data).

Next I recommend you clone a patch from your default environment (you can do this in the classic interface). You add the model-driven app and choose the entities that you want to include and edit the sitemap (and whatever other customizations you would like).

Once you have added all the entities (not necessary to include metadata) you can publish all customizations, export the patch and import to your production instance.

If you need assistance to get you started in the ALM feel free to reach out.

    Hi Luigi,

Thank you for your answer but I do not want to replicate my production environment because I need my dev environnement to be different as we have on going developpements/customisations on our dev environment that we do not want to scratch.

    Best regards.

    Youcef

    Hi Protim,

Thank you for your message. I know how to customize an app. My question was different.

    Hi Youcef,

    Thank you for your reply.

It looks like what you are trying to achieve could be rather complex.

Perhaps some deployment solutions in Azure might help you with your requirements. I'm not sure if you are in the right forum.

    Hi Lllugi,

    Thank you for your comment.

I thinked again about my initial request and maybe my idea (question) was not in the right way.....Maybe I coul just rework the Sales App sitemap adding the entities I need after customising  them on my dev envoronment.  I was wondering what would happen when/if that application was updated by Microsoft, that is why my first idea was to create a custum app based on MS Sales App and deploy it on my production site using solution(s). I tried that and in my app I have the "convert to PDF" functionality but could not operate the "Enhanced email for timeline" one as only those two interest me for the moment.

    Best regards.

    Hi,

As a matter of fact I succeded to activate the "Enhanced email" in my custom app. What I did not succed to have (I thought it wa linked) is the ability when on a form to add another activity (meeting or task) and have a side form opened on top of the source record form.

It works on the MS Sales app but not in my custom app.

    Best regards

Can you check whether you have same or newer version of CRM

    Hi Dani,

Yes indeed I have the enhanced email but it does not work for other activities. And as for the version number I do not have the same info that you have

    Hi Youcef,

I checked the same in my instance as well for other activity then email, yes it is not opening the quick create form on right side as it is happening in Sales Hub App.

Looks weird & need to figure it out
