How do I change a Customer name on Posted invoices

I have a customer who recently conatct me and said that there name is incorrect and wants all statments sent to them with the correct name.  I changed the name in the card howeverit doesn't seem to change it for the posted invocies. Can someone tell me if I have to void them all and them repost, or is there another way?

    You have several options.

    The reports are pulling data from the SOP related tables and not from the RM Customer table, so an update the customer record would update the related RM Customer table, but not the SOP table as SOP is essentially a snap-shot of what was entered in the RM Customer table at the time of creation.  Options include voiding an re-entering invoices, updating tables in SQL (I would highly recommend working with your GP partner on this), or looking at the underlying report to see if customer name could be updated to pull from the RM Customer table and not the SOP table.

    Hi Lu,

    If this is a permanent change to the Customers Name you could always use the PSTL tool under Sales> Customer Name Modifier to change the Customers name. This will effect all reports that has the Customers name on it.

    I'd second Tracey's suggestion of using PSTL which became entirely free last year.
