Tracked Link Name comes through like this format #5, #1 etc

So I've got a dilemma. I want to create a report based on link clicked and group distinct emails by url clicked. I don't want to use the URL as it's too long so I thought I'd go with Link Name.

The problem comes when we've added these buttons that go to URLs and the Link name are coming through in hashtags and then a number (e.g. #5) instead of the text of the button. What is going on and how do I fix it?

Link names like #5 appear because no name was set in the email editor. To fix it, edit the email, select the button or link, and manually set a meaningful Link Name in the properties panel.
