Reparent Asset from Agreement Sub-grid

Hi all,

I have set up a relationship from Agreements to Customer Assets so that we can log which assets are covered by the agreement.

The Asset record has a lookup field for the Agreement. An asset can only be linked to one Agreement, but an Agreement can cover multiple Assets (hence, the use of a sub-grid on the Agreement).

Currently, the system functions as expected. If the Asset is not currently linked to an Agreement, when you add the Existing Asset via the Agreement sub-grid, the lookup field on the Asset is correctly populated with the Agreement.

However, if I then try to add the Asset to another Agreement, I get a message saying it can't be done as it already has a parent.

My question is whether this behaviour can be changed. Can we re-parent the Asset when it is added to another Agreement via the sub-grid (and update the lookup field on the Asset to the new Agreement)?
I have the same question (0)
