Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement reporting options

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 115

Hi

We are soon to go live with Dynamics 365 (online) Customer Engagement.

We are using a bespoke solution  developed by a third party. However this des not include any reports.

So far they have shown us the Advanced Find functionality - but this seems a bit limited.

We want to be able to create our own reports (a bit like you could do with SSRS when we previously had Dynamics CRM on premise)

What options are there for creating reports ?

Is there a way to do your own reports using WYSIWYG  stylr editor ? and if so where will this be in the admin menu ?

Many thanks

Greg

    Hello Greg,

You can use SSRS or PowerBi for your reports.

Is there no option to create a report using a wizard ?

How do you create and add an SSRS report when using Dynamics 365 online ?

    Thanks

    Hello,

You can use either Wizard or VS - readyxrm.blog/

You could use MS Power BI for these requests.

    Create a Wizard using VS.

    That would certainly help.

The previous reply seemed to indicate that their is a wizard available in the online system somewhere- so asking where.

If I login ot the settings options - as per image above- their is no option  for Reports.

One option is "Advanced Find" - open "Advanced Find", look for "Report" entity, click  "Results", at the top of grid - click "New Report" - in the form that popped up click "Report Wizard".

Other option - from Solution - create or open existing solution - navigate to "Report" click  "New" and further steps are the same - in the form that popped up click "Report Wizard".

    Another vote for PowerBI.

System Reports within Dynamics look  dated. You can smarten them up by exporting the report RDL files into Visual Studio.
