Accure the project invoiced amount throughout the period being invoiced

See the scenario how we are planning to accrue revenue against the project like

"We entered a project date and the invoice line description in the "On Account Transactions". We would like the amount invoiced to be recognized throughout the period being invoiced. For example if we invoice on January 1st for a period of Jan 1st - Dec 31st: The amount invoiced should automatically get recognized 1/12 each month".

Initially we found in the AX 2012 r3, the service management module in which we can create the service subscription to accrue the revenue against each month in the project. So the main question is that AX only allowing to create the service subscription against only project type = Time and Material as shown in the below screenshot, what is the reason it's only allowing T&M projects? how can we accrue revenue against other types of project like fix price, internal and cost?

    Hi,

Service subscriptions won't work with fixed price projects because they have a 'fixed' price and cannot invoice customers based on individual transactions.

Internal and cost projects cannot be used for invoicing customers. As a result, subscriptions also don't work for them.

What might be an alternative for you are recurring free text invoices.

They can be linked to projects and used for regular invoicing.

Yet, the problem is that you don't have the accrual feature available there.

A workaround would be doing that in a way that the free text invoice is posted against a bridge account and once the invoice is posted that this bridge account is used for making accruals in a GL journal.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
