AIF Service authentication issue

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport

Hi guys,

We have a webservice available for a partner, this webservice is available through a AIF Inbound Port and uses a HTTP adapter.

The problem:

Our partner claims that they are regularly getting an authentication error, sometimes multiple times in a row, but eventually they get through and the call is processed.

Because they have to retry, their response times have increased, especially if they have to retry multiple times.

Does anyone have any ideas? Could this be a non-Ax issue (network, firewall, ...) ? Can we somehow log this and trace the cause?

It would be better if you can share the actual error message.

Since I see Oracle / Java in your message I assume you are using a http binding. On the server where iis is running and your webservices are deployed you schould find all authentications that failed in the event log.  (Windows log -> security)

With that list you should be able to see where the authentication is failing.

    Kind regards,

    Koen

On the server where IIS installed, we can't find any failed audits, so either they are not logged or they are regarded as successful by windows and not by Ax.

Is there any way to trace something like that? Because we keep pointing to each other.

    Update:

We have found the problem after analyzing the IIS logs. All the calls that had a 401 - Unauthorized response had been made without credentials. We saw in the logs that the username was empty.
