How many custom financial dimensions we can create in D365 ? And you have create one Custom financial dimension Example : "Vehicle" in Legal Entity USMF, It can be visible only in USMF legal entity or all other legal entities we can see ?

Hi,

We can create as much as possible Financial Dimension in Dynamics and these dimensions are visible in any LE in that system.

Financial dimensions are visible by the account structure, means if you use same account structure for all LE, all the dimensions are visible in all LE.

Note- creating more dimension can lead to the system performance issue for some of the reports.

Hi,

You can have various custom dimensions.

Dimensions are shared tables and can be seen.

But to use the dimensions, you need to assign to account structures.

If in legal entitys account structure , the custom dimension is not assigned, that custom dimension will not be able to be used.

Hope this is clear to you as Ramit and Billur already explained.

This is what they explained. Accordingly it impacts in the legal entities.

In addition, you can also determine the Legal entity overrides available in 'Financial dimensions' form.

Decide which dimension value should not be used in which entity and accordingly set this for respective dimension.

So we can create "N" number of financial dimensions . So please clarify me , Please see my scenario and please explain .

I have create one Custom financial dimension "Vehicle" in Legal Entity USMF and activated.

It can be visible only in USMF legal entity or all other legal entities we can see ?

Hi,

If you created Custom financial dimension "Vehicle" in Legal Entity USMF and activated, it wont be used for other LE unless you add this dimension into other LE.

Hi Vinay,

The dimension and the values are visible in all companies on the Financial Dimensions form.

When the dimension is only included in an account structure which is only linked to the ledger for USMF, then this dimension will be not visible in other legal entities on other forms, like general journals, default dimensions for customers.
