I installed the new IE version 10. But now the status window in the POS screen doesn't really appear to look right. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the IE10 install. I'm using the default HTML Status Bar template. Let me know if you experience the same problem after upgrading to IE10, and/or if you might suggest any possible fixes. I'm hoping it is something as simple as enabling/disabling some setting in Internet Options.

Hi Rick,
The fix for this issue was not included in CU5; and the blog has been edited to remove that information.
A fix has also not been released in any hotfixes subsequent to CU5; and as such you would want to utilize the workaround in the blog.
Thanks,
Todd
Has this HTML Status Bar issue been resolved by the Cumulative Update 5 or any subsequent hotfix? I don't see it mentioned in any of the recent items addressed.
I'm still working with RMS 2.01004 and IE 9, and was about to try the fix suggested in this article, but would rather use Microsoft's fix if they've taken care of it.
Hello Andy,
Please take a look at the following blog:
How to fix HTML Status Bars that do not populate after you upgrade to Internet Explorer 10.0
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Todd
I opened a case with Microsoft. They said that Internet Explorer 10 is not compatible with RMS 2.0. They plan to have it resolved when they release RMS Service Pack 5. Until that time comes, you have to uninstall Internet Explorer 10 from the computer and continue to use IE 9.
Direct Quote from Microsoft Support...
"At this time Internet Explorer 10 is not compatible with RMS 2.0. After doing some research I found that the support for Internet Explorer 10 is to be included with the release of RMS 2.0 Service Pack 5. Please note that this is only tentative, and until the Service Pack is released, what is included in the Service Pack is subject to change.
The alternative process in the meantime would be to uninstall Internet Explorer 10 and run Internet Explorer 9. The customer may also want to change from Automatically install Updates to notify them when updates are available, so they can make sure that Internet Explorer 10 is not included in the updates until compatibility with it is included with RMS 2.0."
How to uninstall Internet Explorer 10...
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Click the 'View installed updates' link in the left pane.
Highlight 'Windows Internet Explorer 10' located under the 'Microsoft Windows' section.
Click Uninstall.
Hi Andy, Any progress yet towards fixing this issue? Joseph
I use a custom HTML status bar which all of a sudden stopped displaying correctly. After reading this post I went in and checked my installed updates and the Internet Explorer 10 update installed today. I uninstall the update, restarted, and "voila", my HTML status bar is back to normal.
Hi Andy,
I have been using IE10 with windows 8 Pro for a few months now and have no issues to report. Please let me know what your HTML Status looks like. Mine is white with Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System on the right side of the window. Also I am on version 2.0.1001
Hope this helps
Shawn
