SSRS report printing fine in Dev VM but when deployed at UAT not printing report header properly

Hello all,

I have customized purchase order confirmation report in D365 as per client requirement. We tested properly in Dev VM before moving the code at UAT.

When the testing team tested at UAT they found that the report header is not getting printed properly and making report design span across multiple pages even for a single line record.

I am unable to figure out why this issue is occurring at UAT. Greatest problem is I can't even fix it at my Dev VM as its working perfectly fine at my Dev VM.

If anyone has faced a similar issue at any SSRS report before, if can provide their insights as to how to deal with this situation.

    that is ok, then first go for a delete + redeploy, then restart the reporting service attached to the UAT environment

    Hello Istvan,

    We don't have visual studio development facilities available at UAT. Hence I will have to find out some other way out to overcome this report design issue.

    Hi,

    Before redeploying the report, please delete it from the reporting server. Also you can try open the report in Visual Studio, and perform a Refresh on your dataset in the Datasets node then perform a rebuild then deploy the report.

    Hello Sohaib,

    I have selected my custom report in print management setup as we didn't wanted to print the standard reports. I can see that the report I designed gets printed but the header part of report is a complete mess at UAT which is absolutely fine at my dev vm from where I developed that report.

    This issue I am facing for first time hence unable to figure out why the header of the report design is spanning across multiple pages for a single page report.

    As the UAT doesn't have any provision for Visual studio I need to find some other way to tackle this issue. May be I will reset my dev vm and deploy the package and check the design in Visual studio there.

    Do you want to see print management parameters, please. In case if there is old design selected yet on UAT Box

    Hello Istvan,

    We applied the deployable package for our customization to UAT through LCS and then deployed the SSRS reports to the reporting server. Couldn't figure it out as to why the report design issue exists at UAT when same thing works fine at Dev VM.

    Hi Amit

    Did you deployed the SSRS report also to the reporting server which is setup for UAT also? If yes, try to make a print from the reporting server and compare it to the DEV.
