Hi there,

I am getting this message every time I try to load the office add in from Dynamics 365 operations form.

"The web browser running the add-in is not allowing access to local or session storage. Please adjust the environment and consult the support pages if necessary."

Updated the Office with IE with the latest version but cannot get pass this error.

Anyone has faced the same issue, please help!

Regards,

Pankaj

    Hi Pankaj.gupta,

Have you tried the Chrome browser instead of IE?

Does it work with this different browser?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Pankaj, Vaibhav,

Have you checked if a local or company security policy is preventing saving files coming from the internet? Possibly try to get some help from your system/network/security administrator.

Possibly a Javascript thing, have you got JavaScript disabled in IE for whichever Security Zone?

Hi Pankaj, I am getting the same issue when I try to open in Excel. I am on Win10 and Office 2016. I have downloaded the Microsoft Dynamics Office add-in. Have you over come this issue and how...?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

    Cheers,

    Karim

    Hi Guys,

Unfortunately, there is still no solution of this issue. I have a pending open case with Microsoft on this issue but got no proper resolution yet.

Strangely, its only few users in my organisation having this issue and the our internal IT team has no clue. The workaround here that I can login on the server deployed on the azure via remote desktop and I have no issue using this function there.

Consider looking at existing threads (not AX-specific) about problems with accessing local or session storage, for example StackOverflow: Access Denied for localstorage in IE10.

    Hi Guys,

The original root of the problem is still unexplored by here is the another workaround to get this working on your system:

    1. Export the data from Dynamics 365 like you normally do but instead of running the file, just save it on your computer's local drive.

    2. Now open the Excel on your computer by running it as admin.

    3. From the file > Open menu .. navigate to the Excel file you have saved and open it.

    4. The office add in applet may ask you to sign in again, use your Dynamics 365 credentials and it should work.

I reckon, the Window 8.1 has permission issues with storing the local data using add-ons like this but meanwhile you can use this workaround to get it running.

    Cheers!
