Management Reporter's "Internet Explorer" Credentials

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi:

For end users who generate financials in Management Reporter to Internet Explorer rather than to the Report Viewer, is there a way of allowing for the credentials to "stick" so that the end user is not always prompted upon running a statement?

Despite selecting the "Remember My Credentials" checkbox, the end user is having to keep entering her A/D password.

Thanks!

John

    Hi John,

The steps below should help with this.

Add the MR connection path to the IE local intranet zone:

-On the user's machine, with Internet Explorer open, select Tools > Internet Options

-In the Internet Properties box, select the Security tab > Local Intranet > Sites > Advanced

-Add the Management Reporter connection path and click the Add button (for example: http://Servername)

**You can check the MR path in Report Designer under Tools -> Connection. Maybe even compare this path to working computers to make sure it is the same. IP addresses are not typically recommended.

-Close the local zone > OK > OK

    Setting in IE:

-Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Local Intranet

-From there, click on the “Custom level…” button.

-Then, scroll all the way to the bottom of the “Security Settings – Local Intranet Zone” screen and select “Automatic logon with current user name and password”.

-Click OK, then re-start IE and try again
