Creating party via oData api

In UI you can create just a party, is this possible via odata api. Cannot find suitable entity to use for this. I know that when I create customer or vendor party is automatically created. But use case is to create party in advance and then later decide if we need to create customer or vendor using that party as a 'template'. Product is d365 F&O

    D365 consists of many applications, such as Finance and Operations, Sales or Business Central. You're asking in D365 general forum, therefore it's not clear which product you have in mind. Please add this information.
     
    I think it's likely about F&O, but it will be good to know it for sure.

    I'm also not aware of such an entity. I think you'd have to create a custom one.
