Hello,

I have 1 legal entity that have 1 organization hierarchy and multiple operating units.

in project module,i need to restrict 1 operating unit to see or manage projects related to other operating units.

as i remember before in users--> assign organization, i could select the organization ,then click on arrow and  select operating unit to give access too.

lately in 10.0.8 ,the arrow not showing and i cant do anymore.

how i can restrict such access ? maybe a different setup is required?

Many thanks in advance

I have the same question (0)

    Hello HighFive,

The 'assign organization' button should still be available in the lower part of the users form unless the form has been personalized or some of your rights have been removed.

Can you double check with your system admins to make sure that this is not the case?!

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi HighFive,

I do assume you refer to the organization assignment as part of the security roles? If so, out of the box, this is only working for restricting legal entities. I created an example using XDS to restrict access to operating units as well. Probably this might help you: dynamicspedia.com/.../

    Hi Andre,

    True, organization as security.

i was thinking about creating a new hierarchy as operating unit and then add this hierarchy to Security group in hierarchy purpose and then  assign it to specific users.

Will this be enough to separate for example projects in projects module per hierarchy setup ?

it will not enough you need to pass code in XDS() method to do this.

Currently I am also using the same in one of my client.

    Hi HighFive,

As mentioned above, the restriction is only implemented out of the box for legal entities.  If you need restriction on operating units using the security, you need to implement it using XDS. Please read my blog shared above and related links within this blog for understanding of XDS. This blog has an example how to use the security organization assignment to restrict operating units  (in my example the retail channels).
