Hi guys,

i had done upgrade ax09 to ax2012. 

ax 09 had country codes of 2 aphabets ..like 'CN' for china but in ax 2012 it has beeen changed to 3 albhabets for all countries i.e 'chn'. 

Is it feasible to convert all country codes to 2 alphabets again. If yes, then is it preferable.

    Hi Mayur,

    I understood that some persons did change it, but it is far from recommended. You can use the data upgrade tool to convert the addresses.

    Note that the country/regions are pre-loaded and also there is a hardcoded list in the kernel to be able to determine country specific features.

    My recommendation would be to use the standard provided by Microsoft.

    Suppose if I manage some how to change the country codes to 2 alphabet in ax2012 , does it's going to affect my axapta environment.

    Hi Mayur,

    You have to test it. In all AX2012 implementations I have successfully defended the ISO-3 coding system. There is a field on the Country/Region table called IsImmutable. That means you are officially not allowed to modify the standard records. You can rename records, but I wonder if Microsoft Support would still help you in case of errors. Honestly, try to forget the 2-digit coding option.
