Batch order picking list Raw material validation in AX 2012

In ax 2012 we have created formula for Some FG item. Which consumes multiple raw material and packing materials. Some items user may use or some other items they may add while doing the picking list.

1) In a batch order picking list how do we ensure certain items in the formula is used to produce the finished good item . 2)How do we ensure that in a picking list, for producing X quantity of FG item Y quantity of RAW material is consumed (with some tolerance%)

    Hi Biju,

    1) If an item is specified in a formula, AX will not enable you to complete a batch order unless the formula items are consumed (as it recognizes the item as incomplete) - you can check they have been picked by looking at the 'Price Calculation - Realized consumption' on the batch order.

    2) I'm unclear about your question. In a production picking list you ensure the quantity consumed by validating and posting the pick list. If the proposed consumption varies from the quantity estimated, you edit the 'consumption' quantity to reflect this. You can add additional items not mentioned on the formula as necessary if a user had specific production material requirements (not worthy of editing the formula itself for).

By 'tolerance%' do you mean, for example, that you can accept from 90-100% of the proposed amount of a formula ingredient?

Setting a tolerance per formula component is not functionality i've come across as standard - i've only seen step consumption/ingredient types/rounding which manipulate the proposed qty

    Hope this helps

Suppose If I am creating a formula for FISH PICKLE. For 1 Kg  of the pickle the ingredients are  FRESH FISH PIECES 1.5  KG, OIL 250 ML,GARLIC 200 GM,ONION 200 GM,RED CHILLY POWDER 100 GM, PEPPER 50 GM, SALT 50 GM etc... WE may use GREEN CHILLY 200 GM instead of RED CHILLY POWDER(optional).  In Ax 2012 when we create the batch order and update the picking list,

    1. All the ingredients with proposed quantity will be displayed. But If the user removes the item FRESH FISH pieces (by mistake) and adds BEEF CUBES, then  posts the picking list, then FISH PICKLE  will be produced without  consuming FISH. How can we ensure that without consuming some ingredients(FISH) system will not allow us to post the picking list.

2.Similarly If we specify  1.5 kg of FRESH FISH PIECES in the formula with tolerance 33.333%,  we have to use   at-least 1 KG of FRESH FISH PIECES for producing  good FISH PICKLE. How do we ensure this ?
