Add contacts to subscription lists using query or importing a list & Subscription form in external reserved area in external website

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi, I am wondering if there is a way to add contacts to Subscription lists using query or if it is possible to import a list of contacts. I have a list of contacts which subscribed to newsletter and these contacts are in my Dynamics database and I want to add them to a subscription list in Dynamics but it is impossible to me to add them manually. I tried to select them by filtering contacts in Contacts entity but I'm not allowed to select more than 250 contacts per time and I have more than 5000 contacts to add.

Always linked to the matter of newsletters, is there a way to embed a subscription form in the reserved area of an external website? Or does the subscription center only works when added in the footer of emails sent using Dynamics? Contacts should enter in their reserved area and express their preferences using a subscription form created in Dynamics.

Thank you

    Hi,

The audience cannot be changed during the process of the Customer Journey but alternative solutions can be sought.

For example, you can add the event as an element into the invitation Email. Then add an if/then after it with a condition “registration has been cancelled”.

Set the contacts who cannot attend the event as registered but cancelled.

If cancelled, do not send the reminder email.

If not, send the reminder email when they haven’t registered until the deadline you set.

Of course the conditions need to be set according to your actual situation.

Thank you Nya! It works. I was wondering if I could use it to manually remove contacts from a customer journey because I need to do it but I understood that with segments is impossible because if a contact has already started a campaign he/she will go through it until the end, no way to remove him/her. For example, we have a customer journey that invites people to register for an event.  If they do not register, we send one or two reminder.  The contact calls us and says they cannot attend the event.  Can we remove him from the journey so that he do not receive the reminder?

    Hi,

To add large number of existing contacts into a subscription list, you can create a dynamic marketing list with a query and convert it into a subscription list.

    1. Create a Dynamic Marketing List targeting at Contact.

    1. Save it and Click the “Manage Members” button in the top toolbar. Add the conditions you’d like to set for the query.

    1. Click the “Copy to Static” button in the toolbar. A static Marketing List will be created with the members in the dynamic one.

    1. Click the “Locked” option of the list to switch it to No. Then click the “Subscription” option to switch it to True.

    1. You’ll get the subscription list with the members from the query after saving the modified Static Marketing List.

In addition, here is the documentation about how to embed a Marketing Form on an external page. Hope it can answer your questions.
