LCS VM demo date defaults to 2006 - licence issue?

Posted on by

I have had a Virtual Machine 2012 R3 Demo deployed for a while, and it now defaults to date 12/01/2006 whenever entering a transaction which is causing problems clashing with fiscal periods I can set up etc.

I have read some past posts about this that implied this was a licencing issue, but I have no idea how to rectify it.

I am reluctant to scrap the VM and rebuild another in case some of the components in Azure get duplicated and double charged (there are several elements running in Azure that I don't understand).  I am not technical, and simply followed the links to create the first one.

any suggestions?

    Dear AXfinance,

Download the demo license file from partner source and apply that. Then you can create new period. And you can post.

Thank you, but I do not have the required access to get that.

    Dear AX Finance ,

You have to have partner source access to download. We cannot provide you the license. We cannot break the legal laws from Microsoft. One thing I will suggest. Change your system date to 2005. And try to work. It will solve ur issue. You have to use dates of 2005.But it will give you issue same time with browsing internet but this is the only solution that you have.

    Hi AXFinance,

If you do not have access to partnersource, you would probably be an end user having access to customersource?

If you do have access to customersource, you can use the next link to download the file:

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../AX2012DemoLicenseKeysexp12312015.txt

Thanks Andre, yes that is the case.  The link opens a txt file, but I don't know what to do with it?

    Dear,

you can save this file and import it in the system.

System Administration --> Setup --> Licensing --> License Information --> Load select the file and sync the DScreen-Shot-2015_2D00_05_2D00_06-at-12.39.57-PM.png

Thank you all, after much messing around trying to locate the file from within the VM  and save it, rather than my local machine, it installed ok after synchronising the tables, and the date issue has been resolved.

    many thanks

Is anyone aware of where to download the 2016 demo license package?
