Outbound Marketing to Real Time Marketing Transition

(3) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 6
We have been told that Outbound marketing will be removed from CRM from June 30th 2025 onwards, and will no longer be functional. This is fine as we can use Real Time Journeys for future campaigns.

My question is, will we still be able to view all of our historic campaign data from all the campaigns we've ran in Outbound over the last three years?
I have the same question (0)

Solution: Accessing Historical Outbound Marketing Data After June 30, 2025
Microsoft has officially announced that Outbound Marketing in Dynamics 365 Marketing (now part of Customer Insights - Journeys) will be deprecated and non-functional from June 30, 2025. Organizations are expected to transition to Real-Time Marketing before this date.
    Access to Historical Data Post-June 30, 2025
Yes, you will still be able to access historical data from Outbound Marketing campaigns after June 30, 2025, but with the following considerations:

🔍 What Will Still Be Available
    • All historical data stored in Dataverse will remain intact and queryable.
    • You can continue to access:
      • Outbound email sends and delivery statistics
      • Customer journeys and interactions
      • Marketing lists
      • Leads and campaign responses
      • Related custom entities and fields
This data can be accessed through:
    • Advanced Find / Dataverse queries
    • Power BI reports connected to Dataverse
    • Custom model-driven apps if needed

    What Will No Longer Work
    After June 30, 2025:
    • Outbound UI components will be removed (e.g., the Marketing Email, Customer Journey designers)
    • Outbound automation and execution services (e.g., email delivery, segment updates, journey orchestration) will stop functioning
    • New outbound campaigns cannot be created or modified

    🛠 Recommended Actions
    1. Export Critical Reports:
      • Use Power BI or Excel to export summaries of key campaigns (opens, clicks, conversions, etc.)
    2. Create a Reporting Layer:
      • Build a Power BI dashboard connected to the underlying Dataverse tables (e.g., msdynmkt_email, msdynmkt_segment, msdynmkt_journey) to retain access to historical insights.
    3. Document Mappings:
      • Keep a mapping of legacy Outbound campaign identifiers to Real-Time Marketing constructs for future reference and audits.
    4. Preserve Compliance Records:
      • Ensure GDPR and other regulatory data (e.g., consent records) are preserved and accessible for audit.

🔄 Optional: Migrate Key Historical Campaigns to RTM
    • While not required, you may manually replicate key historical journeys into Real-Time Marketing for continuity in reporting and comparison.

    Summary
    Feature Post-June 2025 Availability
    Outbound marketing execution Not available
    Historical data via Dataverse Available
    Outbound UI (emails, journeys) Removed
Access via Power BI / Advanced Find Supported
For long-term reporting, integrating Power BI with Dataverse is the best approach to maintain visibility into past performance.
Let me know if you need help with specific queries or building Power BI reports on your legacy data.

Yes, you should still have access to your historic Outbound campaign data even after it’s retired - just make sure to back up anything important before June 30th, to be safe. Monkey Mart

Yes, you’ll still be able to view historical Outbound Marketing data after June 30, 2025, but only in a read-only form. The UI and features will be removed, so it's best to export key reports and insights before that date.
