Hi,
I'm trying to restrict access to Financial Reporter reports by Folder and then restrict the data on the reports by Cost Center owner.
I have done some research and it only seems possible to restrict access to a reports folder in a development tool, but thought to check here if there is a way from the front end to allow a folder to all using FinOps, not just accountants but hide all the other reports from operational type users (only viewable to Finance)? I know I can set a security role to allow view of reports by way of duties/permissions, but I'm wanting to allow only certain reports viewable under a specific folder for other parts of the business.
And when they open the reports to restrict only visibility to their own cost centers. I have found I can setup an org hierarchy which I can then setup as the Reporting Tree, however unsure how to restrict it ideally by position. However one position can have access to multiple cost centers (like GMs and Regional Mangers) but then other positions can have access to the same Cost Centers but only their own.
Trying to avoid to set user security on the reports itself per Cost Center as can only do one individual user which is not ideal as we have a high staff turnover and will be a nightmare to maintain as we have hundreds of cost centers.
Appreciate any pointers in the right direction.
