Having trouble connecting using ODATA URL

Hi,

I am having trouble connecting to Dynamics 365 for Financials via odata. I took a look at the documentation and I'm pretty sure the url is correct. Could someone please advise on what I should look at next?

The username is as displayed on the User card in Financials and the password is the web service access key that is generated on that User card. The URL is in the format of "mybusiness.financials.dynamics.com/.../Company('CRONUS%20US')". I even tried it with a space instead of the %20.

This is off of the demo database.

You did not state what tool you're using, but I imagine it's Microsoft Excel?

Try using the ODATA URL instead of the ODATAv4 URL (per the URL you've shared, you're using the ODATAv4 one).

Your username will the value in your User's User Name field. The Password will be the value in the Web Service Access Key field (if it's empty, you can generate a key by clicking on "Change Web Service Key".

Also, as an FYI, there is a dedicated forum for Dynamics 365 for Financials if you go to Communities > Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Edition.

I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please take a moment to verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"

Sorry, we are using a custom built application that is using Odata to bring in the data.

Thank you for letting me know about the dedicated forum, I'll post my question there!

Got it. All the same, try what I've suggested with regards to ODATA URL vs ODATAv4 URL, and what fields to use for credentials.

I'm just getting a general "This site cannot be reached" when checking the URL in an internet browser.

I used Postman to verify the call and I receive the same thing.

    Can you try mybusiness.financials.dynamics.com/.../Company('CRONUS%20US')

Let me know if you are getting same result. Copy the OData URL (not the OData V4 URL)

I had forgotten to test if the port was open. In looks like for some reason, our IT had closed the ports. The issue was on our end, thank you everyone for all the suggestions!
