I believe when the record is created in D365 from LinkedIn this is a one-time update. There is another setting called 'Data Validation' which I think you need a SN Enterprise license for. When data validation is turned on, a new option set field called ‘msdyn_orgchangestatus’ (Not at Company Flag) is added to the contact entity in Dynamics 365. The values in this field are ‘No Feedback’, “Not at Company’, and ‘Ignore’. When the current company of a LinkedIn contact doesn’t match the account the contact is related to in Dynamics 365, this field will be set to “Not at Company’. This validation between LinkedIn and Dynamics 365 data occurs every 24 hours. Besides the option set field being added to the contact entity, it will be also visible on the account org chart. Photo refresh will update the records in Dynamics 365 with the most recent profile picture from LinkedIn. This is also a daily sync.

    Dian,

Is the creation of contact in D365 from a LinkedIn Profile using enterprise license for Sales Navigator a one-time push to D365?   OR   any future updates on that same LinkedIn profile will also be synced with D365 Contact data?

If you want to be able to create a contact in D365 from a LinkedIn Profile you'll need the enterprise license for Sales Navigator. I don't know if you can accomplish what you need by building a connector, unfortunately that is out of my comfort zone.

    Hi Dian,

    This is insightful!

Need your inputs on below :

I am using the Microsoft Relationship Sales License solution which includes Dynamics Sales Enterprise and LinkedIn Sales Navigator Team license.

I am looking for a solution for the below requirement:

"After a Linkedin profile is matched with a contact in dynamics sales,  if the job position or company is updated in Linkedin, same shall reflect in the contact form fields i.e. (Job title and Company Name dataverse fields) of dynamics"

I understand that presently write-back available through the data synchronization settings isn't much extended. But is there a possibility to achieve this by building a custom connector?

    Please advise.

    Thank you.

    Hi Kiran,

The way the integration works between Dynamics 365 and LinkedIn Sales Navigator depends on which Sales Navigator license you have. There is some write-back available through the data synchronization settings, but not to the extend that you are asking for. What is possible today with the synchronization from LI to D365 if you have the proper licenses:

    - Creating a contact or lead from LinkedIn Sales Navigator to Dynamics 365

    - Updating the contact images in D365 with the LinkedIn profile images

    - An 'Not at company' field is added to the contact table in D365 which will be populated with 'Not at company' if the D365 contact's account is different from the linkedin company

-Inmails, Messages, Notes, Phone calls and SmartList views can be synched from LI to D365 as activities
