    Hi Asser,

What are you exactly doing? Is this question related to Microsoft Dynamics AX?

    Hi Andre

Yes, sorry. I posted by accident.

The issue is with the System Diagnostics utility for LCS. When I start collecting data, it provides the above error message in the event log. Before System Diagnostics is run, I cannot run Configuration Manager (which is the tool I'm actually trying to get to work).

    Kind regards,

    Asser

If you look in the LCS Configuration file LCSDiagFXService.exe.config (for me the full path for this was: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services System Diagnostic Service\LCSDiagFXService.exe.config) you'll find a couple of settings: MaxCollectionFileSizeInMBTotalCollectionMaxSizeInMB (XPath: /configuration/appSettings/add[@key='MaxCollectionFileSizeInMB' or @key='TotalCollectionMaxSizeInMB']/@value) with default values of 10 (per file) and 100 (per total collection).

I amended these values to 100 and 500 respectively, then saved the file (required admin elevation), and restarted the LCS service.  I then opened the LCS environment discovery tool, selected my target environment, and clicked Collect Now.  This resolved the error.

NB: I'm not sure why the exception message says 64MB given the original values defined above; I assume that's a minor bug with the exception message.

Caveat: If you have the LCS Environment Discovery tool open before restarting the LCS service, you'll need to re-open it in order for it to reconnect to the service / prevent an immediate error on clicking Collect Now.

NB: The same question is asked on the below sites (sharing URLs for improved searchability):
