I'm getting a strange error. I put in a purchase req and when I try to submit the draft it comes up with the advanced rule error.
Purchase Requisition: xxxxxxx : Distribution errors
You must select a value in the Location field in combination with the following dimensions values that are valid
Main Account 6680
The combination was not validated beyond the Location financial dimension
Dimension values were validated with this advance rule structure: 1 Location, All without blank
Now, it seems simple enough, right? No location on the PReq. But I check and there is a location. And now to the strange part. If I wait 10 minutes or more (I don't have exact times) and bring it up and try it again, it submits and no error comes up.
Any idea what the cause of this strange behavior is?

This was logged in lcs as "Issue 2459193". Looks like we gotta fix that one for Microsoft as it is already marked as "will not be fixed". I will submit it as a bug and then ask for an open vote for it to be fixed and see where it goes...

Did you resolve this problem? I got a similar issue. are you using an advanced rule in your account structure as well? This seems to not occur when account structure doesnt have advanced rules...
We've tried it both ways. We've tried keeping the req on the screen and hitting refresh and submit until it will and we've tried just waiting form 5-10-20 minutes and then hitting refresh. Interestingly it also does not appear to be consistent, so it isn't like I can depend on waiting 7 minutes and it'll work. I thought maybe some delay in an update or a batch but that would mean it should be consistent.
Hi Brian,
I have not seen this before. What happens if you put in the requisition and waits for the 10 minutes and then submit it to the workflow? You mentioned you have to wait for about 10 minutes. Can you indicate if you tried it several times before the 10 minutes and then also fails?
The rule that it refers to above "1 Location, All without blank" is set up with "<all values>". The only variation on it is that this one does not allow blanks.
If your explanation was correct, though the secondary behavior would not happen. Why does waiting 10-15 minutes and refreshing it solve the problem? If there were an error in a setting or combination of data it would fail each time. But it fails, you wait 15 min or more and pull the REQ back up and then submit it again and it flows through.
Hi Brian.
The error seems to refer more to invalid values selected rather than reporting empty values. Try and check your chart of account structures advanced rules to determine whether the values are valid.
