Appointment status created from account does not match Outlook meeting status

Hi all,

I have an appointment created directly from the activities entity. When saved, the status is set to scheduled which blocks the time on the corresponding owner's Outlook (status in Outlook: Busy):

However, when I create and save an appointment from an account (timeline), the status on D365 is set to Open while the corresponding status on Outlook is Free:

Is there any particular reason for this difference? Is there a way to possibly solve this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Rahul, thanks for this. While this does make sense, I cannot seem to find the connection for the appointments created from the account table. Any ideas?

    Hi fran2105,

What does "I cannot seem to find the connection for the appointments created from the account table" mean?

Do you mean how the appointment is related to the Account?

If so, when you create Appointment, there is a Regarding field which is related to the account.

Also when you add Attendees(Required/Optional), the appointment would also show in their timeline.

Hi Steve! When I create an appointment from the account record, and save it, the appointment stays as OPEN which will not block my calendar for that time on Outlook.

When I create the appointment directly from the activity table and set the regarding as the same account as above and save it, the status is set to scheduled (please see the screenshots above).

I am failing to see why there is this difference.
