Hi Experts,
I have a requirement to have multiple number sequence format for same EDT and based on some conditions the sequence should generate. I have created manually all the sequence formats and calling the needed one whenever the user is trying to create a record. Is it a good practice to create number sequences manually in the module Organization administration and call them based on our requirements ? Will it cause any harm in future ?
Please advise.
There are many examples of this in Ax (Accounts receivable, jouarnals, assets etc.). Just remember that Each number sequence must be managed within itself.

You can have a look at the Asset module where there is a generic number sequence on the parameters form, but you can also setup a different number sequence per asset group. You can review the application logic how this has been achieved and implement it for your requirement.
Can you tell more about your 'some conditions' which would drive the number sequence to be used?
