Hello,
we are facing the following issue with the AX2012 help server.
Currently the AX clients run under Citrix and are able to access the Help Server via just the server name, e.g. AX2012HelpSrvr
Under a new network architecture the clients will need to rely on the fqdn to access the machine, e.g. AX2012HelpSrvr.mycompany.com
I have tried reconfiguring the location of the help server in System Administration - but it does not seem to work. Despite setting the full fqdn it is still trying to reach AX2012HelpSrvr without the suffix.
Now - if I go to the client machine, open up Internet Explorer and paste a URL such as http://AX2012HelpSrvr.mycompany.com:81/DynamicsAXHelpserver/Topic.aspx?........ - I do reach a help page. However when I try to navigate further by clicking on hyperlinks it fails. The hyperlinks no longer have the domain suffix, but are of the form http://AX2012HelpSrvr:81/DynamicsAXHelpserver/Topic.aspx?...
It seems that when the AX Help Server is actually rendering the contents it inserts references with just the server name, and not the fqdn. I have tried looking for a configuration item in files and the registry - to no avail. I tried renaming the IIS server to the fqdn - does not help either.
Do you have any idea if this is a configurable behaviour? If yes - where can I set it so the Help Server works under fqdn? My network techies have a workaround in mind but I would prefer to just get it running correctly via AX setup.
Regards,
Grzegorz
