Hi All,

I would like to discuss with you all to understand the true difference between a Cloud only system and a RSSU (Retail Store Scale Unit).

As per my knowledge, a Cloud only system in a Retail store works only if there is Internet connectivity. On the other hand there is RSSU that can be used when a store has intermittent or less reliable internet connectivity. Having said that, I see RSSU is not capable of real time transactions like looking up inventory, issuing gift cards etc. In this case, I believe retailers can opt for MPOS (Modern POS) with offline mode enabled which is much better than RSSU in providing most of the functions in an offline mode using offline database.

What do you think of this?

Hi Sai,

An MPOS working in offline mode won't be able to use the real time functionality you mention either, so it's not that much better.

Can I receive Transfer orders and make transfer order between store without connecting to HQ back office using RSSU?..

For example I create transfer order on HQ Back office, the transfer order is between Store 1 and Store2. So now Store 2 need to receive using RSSU, that store is not connected with realtime. Is it possible to receive? also can I make Transfer order from Store 2 without connecting HQ Back office.?.
