Issues with Management Reporter Back Button

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

I have a customer who has a long report.  The first level report is row of 21 pages long, tree is 3 levels deep, with the Financial, Account, Transaction detail level for a total of 5.  The customer finds the line on the page he wishes to drill-down on, goes more then one level down, reviews the information and then returns to the first level report where he drilled down at.  If he uses the back button, it goes to the top of page 1 of the report, not the page he was on.  If he closes the drill-down pages with the X in the top right corner, same issue. I have verified this on my system, running MR 2012 CU 14. I used a 2 page report.  Interesting item though, if the drill-down is only one level down from the first level, it will return to the line on the page.

Anyone have this issue and have a process for being able to return to the original line on the first level of the report?

Thank you in advance for your time.

Sincerely,

Zara

    Zara,

Are you testing this in the MR web viewer or the full client viewer?

I assume you are using the Report Viewer and not the Web Viewer since you mention closing with the X in the top right. I set up a simple test in my system (CU14) with 10 or so pages of rows, and then 4 levels of tree. I drilled into an line on Page 5 all the way through the tree to the lowest transaction detail level. When I went back either using the Back button or the X, it always brought me back to the original page and line at the top level of the report. Repeating the test in the Web Viewer, it does bring you to the top of the web page but that makes sense because there are no actual "pages" in the web viewer display.

I'm not sure what would be causing your issue but I am guessing it is related to report design. You may want to try setting up a simple row, column, and tree and try swapping those in to narrow the issue or if needed, you can log a support case for us to dig into it.
