RMA Closed, Sales Order has Invoice Remainder

Hello,

We have two RMAs which had a quantity of 11. We registered with disposition "Return to Inventory and Credit" and received all 11 in on the RMA. When we went to the return Sales Order, and invoiced for 3 of the 11. Now, our RMA shows status "Closed," the RMA line status is "Invoiced," and our Sales Order shows "Delivered" with 8 left to be invoiced.


The issue AX will not allow us to invoice the remaining 8, edit the RMA or Sales Order/lines in any way. The furthest we have been is when trying to invoice, and selecting "Packing Slip" we could see the Packing Slip for 11, with 8 remaining. We select this packing slip and process the Invoice, but get the error "Only return orders lines with return status Regsitered or Received can be invoice updated."

Since we can't finalize this order, these show up on our Shipped Not Invoiced report and we can't figure out how to complete.

Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Does anyone have any thoughts on this? We are completely stuck on properly finishing out this RMA/Sales Invoicing.

    What's the status of the inventory transactions linked to the sales order line?

    I could be that the return sales order line is out of synch with the inventory transactions - if that's the case treat the inventory transactions as correct and get a developer to force the sales order line fields to be in alignment.

    To me, it looks like the inventory transactions occurred, and I assume that the transaction becomes "financial" when they get invoiced, so it is "Purchased" for 3, which we were able to invoice, and 8, which are "Received" not invoiced yet.

    This is our only option is to get a dev to fix it?
    Is this something that should be happening?
    Both RMAs are from the same customer, done at the same time, both came out the same way, so I'm assuming there's something in the process of these two that got them off track?

    Cold you please explain your error again. It seems to me that you should be able to go to the 'Delivered' sales order (not the Return order, but the sales order itself), and post an invoice for the Delivery note quantity.

    Sure, on the Sales Order, we have 8 invoice remainder. When we try to invoice these, the only way we can pull these 8 in is by selecting "Select Packing Slip" and picking the packing slip from the RMA for the full 11, which does tell us there is 8 remaining to be invoiced. We proceed to invoice, and we receive the error "Only return orders lines with return status Registered or Received can be invoice updated." If we look at the RMA, it is status "Closed."

    Apparently there is a hotfix for this same problem in R3, but not in R2. Ended up having to get this submitted to Microsoft, as we cannot find any other way to fix this issue.

    Microsoft has provided a hotfix to R2 as this issue is inherent and repeatable in external/Microsoft environments. The issue occurs when an RMA is fully received, but only partially shipped/invoiced. Working on applying the hotfix and testing.
