Why can't I copy the record URL to open the record in another window.

Hi, 

Each record (e.g. Case) you open in Dynamics 365 has a web URL. Follows a format something like as follows:

https://<myD365instance>/main.aspx#229279587 (where the red number must uniquely identify that record). 

I was assuming that I could copy that URL in the address bar and place into another browser window, which would directly open the specific case record. However, it seems to resolve back to the main page (dashboard) which changes that red number.

I know I can get a unique link by selecting 'Email a Link', but was hoping it could be done more simply by copying the URL.

I'm trying to find an easy way for my UAT testers to report issues with a specific record, and was wanting them to be able to copy the record URL. 

Am I missing something?

    Hi Glasgow123, 

    The number you see after the 

    main.aspx

    is not the record identifier. It is simply some sort of a hash the CRM platform generates, so it can keep track of where to go when you press the back button. This should not be used as a Record Id because, the minute you take it out of your browser's context (i.e., even that tab) the number loses all relevance.

    Hi,

    This is by design  as dynamics crm renders Master Page which contains main navigation and inside that  content entity forms are render. The number in the url is used for internal use and for particular session.

    You can get any record url by clicking on  Pop Out button in the top corner of entity forms.(mentioned in method 2 below first link)

    In addition you may prepare yourself by using GUID-
