Number Sequence format to 20 lengths

I was wondering if there are any rules in relation to altering the AX number sequences,

However, we are meeting some resistance from our client because they already have 30 lengths of number sequence format, if we want to decrease to 20 lengths that will be make some trouble issue with third party apps,

I found the class generic number sequence that harcoded by msft,,,Is there anything to their concerns why msft harcode the lengths format of numbersequence to 20 digit,??

at a lot of places the ID/primary key is 20 char e.g. vendor number, customer number, item number.....etc

, just by increasing number sequence does automatically increase all such places

In scenarios where you use number sequences, D365 is the master of that ID / information. In general ID fields are 20 characters in D365.

I can not understand why a third party app that supports ids up to 30 characters long would have issues with ids that are 20 characters long and coming from D365.

What kind of issues are you expecting to have?
