Net Display background turned white by itself

A week ago, on one of our POS stations, the Net Display monitor background (receipt portion) spontaneously turned from the original blue gradient to solid white. We didn't change anything. Today, another of our POS stations changed as well. I'm not opposed to replacing the gradient background with some other color, but I want to be able to control it.

Where do I set the background? I suspect it's in the receipt.htm file (control-F6), but I don't know where in there.

Thanks!

p.s. RMS seems to have an issue with settings spontaneously changing. Like our NetDisplay occasionally changing to a position of -32000,-32000 by itself. Or our main monitor doing something similar.

    Your setting of -32000 x -32000 is caused by re-starting the machine when RMS's POS screen is minimized.

    Either fix it using the Ctrl + F6 method | Transaction Screen tab | Window Button | adjust the settings

    OR

    Don't allow a minimized button option on that same setup screen

    OR

    Make the following Registry entry Read Only;

    32b

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display

    64b

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display

    OR

    Run the machine in Standard user mode which is read only

    RMS did nothing, you installed IE10 thru Windows Update and it broke RMS' HTML rendering.

    MS posted a fix about a month ago in their RMS blog; community.dynamics.com/.../how-to-fix-html-status-bars-that-do-not-populate-after-you-apply-to-internet-explorer-10-0.aspx

    Thanks so much for the reply!

    I knew the file location and had made a copy of it yesterday, just in case. I checked the modified date just now on the original receipt.htm file and it's still July 2012, so we didn't change it. None the less, the background is still white, though the file was not changed.

    There is no explicit "background" code in the file. There is a gradient setting (which I'm assuming somehow affects the background), but it's some code I've never seen before in my HTML codling experience. I'm guessing that the receipt.htm file must rely on something outside the file to display the receipt on the Net Display.

    We have RMS 2.0. I don't know where to find more specifics than that. We're running Windows 7, with Service Pack 1.

    I don't know where to look about a domain policy. It's be whatever our RMS consultants set us up with.

    Thanks!

    Hi ,

    If you enabled receipts in net display, it controls by receipt.htm only. Its located at following folder;

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\HTML

    Check the background color. (code)

    It will not change automatically unless someone replace the html or system cannot access that file.

    Size of the windows saved in registry. Change the size using an administrator account. if a user account does not have change access to registry, the changed values will not get saved.

    Which OS you are using in POS and is there domain policy applied. What is the RMS version.
